Busy busy

Whew, we have been so busy in Hong Kong that I've been too tired to post each night! Here are a few pics of what we've been up to:

First, my 27th birthday celebration on Sunday--some of Matthew's friends came over in the evening, and we had a yummy homemade cake:

I think I was strategizing about how to cut it up here--my advancing age has obviously not cured me of my habit of talking with my hands!

Then, yesterday...we began the day with dim sum:

Then we visited a local wet market, where we had to watch out for fish tails while squeezing through the aisles:

After that we traveled downtown to visit the Avenue of the Stars, where Joel did a little kung fu with Bruce Lee:

Matthew took us to visit his dad's office, a company that works to provide Bibles and other resources for Christians all over Asia. Here I am reading a tiny Korean Bible:

Later we went to the Museum of Coastal Defense, up at an old fort from the British era...we thought the view of these fishing villages alongside the skyscrapers was really striking:

After that, we took a tram to the top of Victoria Peak, where we could view the whole city from above--amazing!

Finally, we ate Indian food at a hole-in-the-wall place in a building that Matthew describes (hopefully not too accurately!) as a "firetrap". It was delicious!

Today we are enjoying a much-needed lazy morning before an outing with Joel's new friend Kai...it will be our last big activity in Hong Kong, as we are scheduled to leave already tomorrow morning!

More news from Manila in the coming days...hope you are all well!
