Biloxi pics

I still don't have copies of the promised Tyvek-suit pictures, but I'm working on it! In the meantime, here are some shots of our park restoration work on Friday:

We planted these--had to dig through a tough layer of shell to put them in the ground, but we did it!

Notice the Biloxi Police search and rescue boat and the sweet impounded car in the background. ;)

My girls, taking a well-deserved Wheat Thins and canned-water break:

The canned water is donated by your friends at Anheuser-Busch (at our base camp) and Budweiser (at the Salvation Army, where we ate lunch). Both versions taste weird, but in distinctive ways--we joked a lot about all of the extra electrolytes that had probably seeped in while the water sat in aluminum cans for a few months!

I spent about 2 hours on my hands and knees picking up broken glass at this park:

We also cleared several big piles of brush here, and my teammates did something with a trench (digging? filling in?) that caused them to complain a lot while I filled a 5-gallon bucket with glass shards.

Adorable undergrads finding an alternative use for A-B water cans:

It's amazing what fun can be had with a bunch of stuff that would have ended up in the recycling otherwise! These are some terrific kids--an enthusiastic, hardworking and (as you can see!) resourceful bunch.
